I Taste the Difference

You can get these beauties (and buttermilk drops) at the Tastee Donuts on Clearview and West Metairie.

World Class? You decide. Damn good, I say.

Gotta love bakery items that share the name of Trey 4.

What?? What??? Don't get me all excited like this unless there's a chance of me getting those big, red, heart-shaped cookies on Valentines Day. Those and meringue kisses, glazed donuts, cheesecake, and a chance encounter with John Pela.

Yep, Lisapal, I miss all those too.

Even the holiday cupcakes with the dangerously sharp plastic toothpicky thing with Santa or a pumpkin on the other end.

Ohmygosh, ohmygosh, ohmygosh...I thought McKenzie's was dead and gone the way of K & B, Schwegmann's and Our Daily Bread. Can you get turtles? You know the things: plop of whipped chocolate on top of a shortbread cookie with a pecan on top? If so, I'm comin' home now. Mamma, get the sofa bed ready.

I even miss their king cakes that would actually suck the hydration out of you, they were so dry.
