Small Blessings

As we approach Independence Day, I have been thinking about Mayor C. Ray Nagin.  He deservedly gets a hard time, but I have thought recently of some things for which we should be thankful.

1. He hasn't driven drunk across the Causeway, smashed things up, and caused some low-level cops to get in trouble for things he did.

3. He hasn't publicly campaigned against pay raises for legislators and then wimped out about it.

8. He hasn't invested in the same company as the Bin Laden family.

Faint praise.  Not world class.  But I'm trying to be positive here.

At least you gave it the old college try.

Or said something like "It looks like a lot of that place could be bulldozed." [D. Hastert, R-Ill]

Yeek! That's some pretty thin ice there. You're a brave fellow for venturing out upon it.

Probably not worth the effort, though.

I'm glad he hasn't done a lot things. We can add some, too:

*He didn't take those Vanity Fair pictures of Miley Cyrus or father Jamie Lynn Spears' baby.

*He hasn't moved to Dalls...
fully....
yet.

*He hasn't cold cocked anyone.

There are so many things he hasn't done yet. Although he MAY have blown up some levees in Iowa - I'm still not sure on that.

And he still has years to accomplish them all before his term ends!

I'm feeling like Adrastos should be cuing up Monty Python's "Always Look on Bright Side of Life"

I guess you're right, there's only one politician in the world who is the WORST, and it seems right now hizzoner does not hold the title.

Thank goodnes for small favors--and this is certainly a very, very small favor.

Peace,

Tim
